Who are we?

We are college students and community members interested in community health in Ypsilanti.

Are you religiously affiliated?

Nope! Although we are housed in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, we have absolutely no religious affiliation or agenda.

Where will these events take place?

All events will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti (201 N. River Street)

When do we start?

Saturday, January 30, 2010.

What time does each session start?

1:0pm on Saturday afternoons with lunch and a health discussion.

On which Saturdays will there be sessions?

February 6, February 13, February 20, February 27, March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3.

If I missed the first session or two, can I still attend?

Absolutely! Just contact us at yhi.families@gmail.com.

Are there any costs to enrolling?

Nope!

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch (really!). Due to our generous sponsors, we are able to provide all services at absolutely no cost!

What will we learn during the health discussions?

You decide! We only teach what you want to learn! We’ll be doing some polling and discussion in the beginning of the program to find out what most appeals you!

Can I enroll directly or is a referring agency required?

Nope!

Is there a smoking cessation component?

There is a health-education workshop that touches upon the dangers of smoking, but we are not qualified to intervene further. We can, however, direct you in the appropriate direction.

What should I bring?

Your family, a smile, and a healthy appetite!
